Help
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an account to browse?
No. Flea’s public listings and Information Center can be viewed without signing in. An account is required to save an item, ask a question, make an offer, buy, sell, or message after a transaction unlocks.
What is the difference between a Table and a Booth?
A Table is designed for a personal seller listing a small number of items. A Booth is a paid business storefront with higher product capacity, store branding, buyer activity tools, and recurring inventory controls.
When can a buyer and seller message each other?
Messages unlock after Buy Now or after a seller accepts an offer. Keeping the conversation attached to the product preserves the listing and transaction context if support is needed.
How do card payments and pickup work?
Stripe processes eligible card payments. The buyer’s payment may be authorized or held while pickup is arranged. For a card-paid local pickup, the in-app QR handoff confirms that the exchange occurred before payout is released.
Can I cancel an offer?
Yes. A buyer can cancel an offer from My Offers any time before the completed handoff. Flea notifies the seller and releases an uncaptured card authorization when one exists. The buyer can archive the canceled item immediately; otherwise it leaves the active view after 72 hours.
How do I report a listing or seller?
Select the report flag in the corner of the product post, choose the reason, and add useful details. Flea attaches the product and seller information to the report automatically.
Buyer’s Guide
Start by reviewing every photo, the full description, condition, price, seller reviews, distance, and pickup details. Ask specific questions before making an offer. Use Buy Now when you are ready to commit, confirm the payment method, and keep scheduling inside Flea. Inspect the item before completing the handoff. Card-paid pickups use the Flea QR confirmation flow; cash pickups should be marked complete in the transaction. Save the receipt and leave a fair review based on the actual experience.
Seller’s Guide
Use clear, current photographs of the exact item being sold. Choose the closest available category, describe flaws and missing parts honestly, and set a realistic listing price and minimum offer. Respond to questions without moving the conversation off Flea. Once an offer is accepted or Buy Now is received, confirm the pickup request or prepare the shipment promptly. Do not sell the same item to another person after committing to a Flea buyer. Keep listings accurate, mark outside sales correctly, and complete the handoff so receipts, reviews, and inventory status stay reliable.
Payment Help
Flea uses Stripe for eligible card entry, payment authorization, connected seller accounts, refunds, and payouts. Flea does not store a card’s full number or security code in the marketplace interface. A card payment may appear as pending while the item is awaiting pickup or QR confirmation. Refund timing depends on the transaction status and the buyer’s bank. Sellers who accept card payments must finish Stripe onboarding before receiving payouts. Open the matching purchase record when contacting support so the order and payment reference can be included.
Safety
Safe Meetups
Choose a busy, well-lit public location during normal business hours. Tell someone where you are going, keep your phone charged, and avoid entering a stranger’s home or moving to a last-minute private location. Many police departments provide monitored exchange areas or permit marketplace meetups in a station parking lot; Flea supports and strongly recommends using those locations when available. Verify the item and agreed price before completing the transaction, and leave if the situation feels unsafe. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services rather than waiting for an in-app response.
Fraud Prevention
Keep offers, payment choices, pickup details, and messages inside Flea. Never share a password, sign-in code, card security code, banking password, or a QR code sent by someone outside the active Flea transaction. Be cautious of overpayments, requests to buy gift cards, unexpected payment links, fake support messages, pressure to ship before payment is confirmed, or requests to refund money through another service. Flea staff will not ask for your password or verification code. Stop the transaction and report the account when payment or identity details do not match the listing flow.
Report a User
Every product post includes a report flag in its corner. Selecting it opens a private report form and automatically attaches the listing, product, and seller context for Flea’s review. Choose the closest reason and include factual details such as what happened, when it happened, and whether payment or a meetup was involved. Reports are not shown to the reported user. A report is not an emergency service; contact local authorities immediately when there is an active threat or danger.
Community
Community Guidelines
Flea works when buyers and sellers are truthful, respectful, and reliable. Listings must represent the actual product, its condition, ownership, price, and availability. Users may not harass, threaten, discriminate against, impersonate, pressure, or deceive another person; manipulate offers or reviews; send spam; create duplicate accounts to avoid restrictions; or interfere with another seller’s listings. Commitments matter: communicate promptly, arrive for agreed meetups, ship when promised, and use the transaction controls when plans change. Flea may preserve listing, message, payment, device, and report information to investigate safety, fraud, marketplace integrity, or policy concerns.
Prohibited Items
Flea does not permit animals; illegal goods; stolen property; counterfeit, replica, or unauthorized branded goods; weapons, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, or other dangerous goods; recalled or unsafe products; controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, tobacco or nicotine products; alcohol; prescription medicines; human remains or body parts; pornography or sexual services; hate material; personal data; financial instruments; or any product whose sale requires a license or is restricted by local, state, or federal law. Listings that attempt to disguise a prohibited item, direct buyers off-platform, or evade category filters are also prohibited. Prohibited listings may be removed immediately, and accounts used to offer them may be suspended or permanently deleted without advance notice. Flea may also preserve evidence and cooperate with lawful requests when safety or illegal activity is involved.

Terms of Service
Acceptance and Eligibility
By accessing or using Flea, you agree to these Terms, the Community Guidelines, the Prohibited Items policy, the Privacy Policy, and all supplemental terms presented during a transaction or paid service. You represent that the information supplied through your account is accurate, that you are legally permitted to enter binding transactions, and that you will maintain the confidentiality of your credentials. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account unless you promptly notify Flea of unauthorized access.
You must be at least eighteen years old and legally capable of entering a binding agreement, or use Flea only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian where permitted. Account, identity, tax, payout, listing, and transaction information must be accurate and current.
User Content, Moderation, and License
You retain ownership of photographs, descriptions, messages, reviews, and other content you submit. You grant Flea a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, reproduce, format, display, distribute, and use that content solely to operate, secure, moderate, promote, and improve the marketplace. Flea provides filtering, reporting, blocking, and human-review mechanisms for user-generated content. A listing that matches a restricted-item signal may be held from public view pending internal review. Flea may remove content, restrict contact, preserve evidence, or suspend users when reasonably necessary to enforce policy, protect safety, investigate fraud, or comply with law.
Intellectual Property
You may list only goods and upload only content that you own or are authorized to sell or use. Counterfeit goods, unauthorized replicas, trademark misuse, and copyright infringement are prohibited. Rights holders may send a detailed infringement notice to legal@letsflea.com identifying the protected work, challenged listing, contact information, a good-faith statement, and a statement that the notice is accurate and authorized.
Marketplace Role
Flea is a technology platform that enables independent users to publish listings, discover products, communicate, make or accept offers, arrange local pickup, and access payment-processing services. Except where Flea expressly identifies itself as the seller, Flea is not a party to the underlying sale, does not take title to listed merchandise, and does not manufacture, possess, inspect, test, authenticate, warrant, or guarantee any item. The seller, and not Flea, is responsible for lawful ownership, listing accuracy, product condition, authenticity, safety, required disclosures, taxes, fulfillment, and compliance with applicable law.
Buyer Due Diligence and Assumption of Risk
Buyers are responsible for reviewing photographs and descriptions, asking questions, evaluating seller information, inspecting an item before an in-person handoff, and determining whether the item is appropriate for its intended use. Secondhand merchandise may contain wear, defects, missing parts, or conditions that are not apparent from photographs. To the maximum extent permitted by law, purchases are made from the independent seller on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Dissatisfaction, ordinary wear, buyer’s remorse, or a defect that was disclosed or reasonably discoverable during inspection does not create an obligation for Flea to refund the purchase price.
Transaction Disputes and Product Refunds
Product-condition disputes are generally between buyer and seller. Flea does not maintain a general merchandise return program and does not reimburse users merely because an item is unwanted, damaged, incomplete, or different from the buyer’s personal expectations. A transaction may be reviewed when payment was unauthorized or duplicated, the seller did not provide the item, a card-paid pickup was not completed, shipment was not made, fraud is substantiated, or a refund is otherwise required by applicable law. Flea may preserve or release a payment authorization, provide transaction records, restrict an account, or facilitate a seller-approved adjustment, but any review is case-specific and does not guarantee reimbursement.
Paid Flea Services
Booth memberships and other subscription services provided by Flea are separate from merchandise sold by users. Charges for a duplicate transaction, a technical failure that prevented delivery of a purchased service, or an erroneous membership charge may be eligible for correction or a discretionary refund after review. A Booth membership currently renews at the price displayed during enrollment. Canceling a recurring plan stops future renewal but does not automatically reverse a properly delivered prior billing period, except where required by law or approved by Flea.
Enforcement and Platform Availability
Flea may investigate activity; preserve listing, message, device, payment, and transaction records; remove content; delay or cancel transactions; limit features; withhold a payout where legally permitted; suspend an account; or permanently terminate access when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, address fraud or safety concerns, or comply with law. Users may not scrape Flea, interfere with security, automate abusive activity, manipulate reviews or offers, evade restrictions, impersonate another person, or use the platform to collect information about other users.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Flea provides the platform and related services without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or a particular transaction result. Flea is not responsible for the acts or omissions of buyers or sellers; item quality, legality, authenticity, safety, or condition; missed meetups; shipping loss or delay; personal injury; property damage; or indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-profit damages arising from a user transaction. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Privacy Policy
Flea collects information you provide, including account and profile details, listings and photos, messages, offers, reviews, support requests, payment and shipping selections, and seller business information. Flea may also process approximate or precise location when you enable it, device and browser information, sign-in events, usage activity, fraud signals, and transaction references received from service providers.
This information is used to operate accounts and listings, personalize nearby discovery, process and support transactions, send requested notifications, prevent abuse, investigate reports, improve Flea, and comply with legal obligations. Information is shared only as needed with the other party to a transaction, service providers such as Firebase and Stripe, safety and fraud vendors, or authorities when legally required. Private payment credentials are handled by the payment provider and are not displayed to other marketplace users.
Service Providers and Social Login
Flea may share information only as reasonably necessary with transaction counterparties and vendors that support the service, including Google Firebase for authentication, hosting, database, and storage; OpenAI for seller-requested image analysis; Stripe for payment processing, identity verification, connected accounts, disputes, refunds, and payouts; and Apple, Google, or Meta when a user chooses the corresponding sign-in service. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices. Flea does not sell full card numbers, passwords, or social-login tokens and does not use social-login data for unrelated advertising without consent.
Retention, Security, and User Choices
Active account and listing information is retained while needed to provide Flea. Seller archives and past-purchase display records are scheduled for deletion after thirty days unless a longer period is required for a transaction, dispute, fraud review, safety report, tax or accounting obligation, legal hold, or backup rotation. Payment records may be retained by Stripe and Flea for financial, tax, anti-fraud, chargeback, and legal obligations. Security logs and moderation evidence are retained only as reasonably necessary for safety, enforcement, and legal compliance. Flea uses HTTPS, Firebase Authentication, access-controlled Firestore and Storage rules, administrator claims, and provider-hosted payment entry; no online system can guarantee absolute security.
You may disable optional location and notifications, edit profile information, revoke a social login through the provider, request access or correction, object to or restrict certain processing where applicable, and request deletion. If precise location is declined, Flea offers ZIP Code entry. Applicable privacy rights may include access, correction, deletion, portability, and nondiscrimination.
Children and International Processing
Flea is not directed to children under thirteen and does not knowingly collect their personal information. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where service providers operate, subject to contractual and legal safeguards where required.
Location sharing, notifications, saved addresses, and profile details can be managed from account settings where available. Some records may be retained after deletion when necessary for completed transactions, fraud prevention, disputes, safety investigations, legal compliance, or backups. Flea applies access controls and security safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their password, enable available multi-factor authentication, and report suspected account access promptly.
Account and Data Deletion
You may permanently delete your Flea account below or from Edit Profile on your Flea Table. Flea shows two clear warnings and requires the exact email on the signed-in account before deletion. Confirmed deletion cancels the booth subscription, removes the Firebase Authentication account, profile, public listings, questions, conversations, offers, notifications, pickup QR codes, moderation records, and uploaded Flea images. Completed transaction, payment, tax, fraud, safety, dispute, and legal-hold records may be retained only in restricted, anonymized form for the applicable period. Backup copies are removed through ordinary rotation. If you used Facebook Login, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple, you may also revoke Flea from that provider’s account settings.
Payment Terms
Eligible card transactions are processed by Stripe and its connected-account services. By selecting card payment or enabling seller card acceptance, you authorize Flea and Stripe to collect information required to process the transaction, place or modify an authorization hold, capture approved funds, deduct disclosed fees, reverse or refund an eligible charge, verify a connected seller, and deliver eligible payouts. Stripe’s terms, privacy practices, identity-verification requirements, restricted-business rules, and banking timelines also apply.
Payment processing services for sellers on Flea are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement. By accepting these Terms or enabling payment processing, a seller agrees to the applicable Stripe agreement, authorizes Flea to provide accurate business and transaction information to Stripe, and acknowledges that Stripe processes personal data under the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Merchant of Record and Payment Responsibility
The checkout, receipt, and statement descriptor must identify the merchant of record for the transaction. Unless checkout expressly identifies a connected seller as merchant of record, Flea may act as the marketplace settlement merchant for the card transaction while the independent seller remains responsible for the merchandise, listing accuracy, condition, legality, and fulfillment. The Stripe Connect configuration determines responsibility for processing fees, negative balances, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, taxes, and payouts. No seller may accept card payments until Stripe onboarding and required capabilities are complete.
For a local card transaction, funds may remain authorized or held until the required pickup confirmation, including QR confirmation when displayed. A hold is not a final seller payout. If a handoff does not occur, an authorization may expire or be released according to the transaction state and the buyer’s financial institution. Shipping transactions may use different capture, dispute, and payout timing. Flea may delay a payout while reviewing suspected fraud, a chargeback, an incomplete handoff, incorrect payout information, a legal request, or a violation of these Terms.
Payment processing does not make Flea the seller of user-listed merchandise and does not create a general Flea product warranty or return obligation. Merchandise refund requests remain subject to the Transaction Disputes and Product Refunds section above. Cash is permitted only when the listing and transaction provide that option; Flea cannot reverse, trace, insure, or recover cash exchanged between users.
Users must not divert a Flea card transaction to an external payment link, wire transfer, gift card, cryptocurrency, or unrelated payment application. Off-platform payment requests may result in transaction cancellation, loss of platform records or protections, payout delay, account restriction, or permanent account removal. Taxes, bank charges, card-network assessments, and legally required reporting remain the responsibility of the party to whom they apply.
Shipping, Pickup, Returns, Refunds, and Cancellation
Pickup: Buyers and sellers must use the approved time and Flea handoff controls. A seller’s private address is not released until the required transaction stage. Returns: Unless a seller expressly offers returns or law requires one, secondhand goods are final sale after inspection and confirmed pickup. A buyer must raise an unauthorized-payment or substantial-misrepresentation claim promptly with supporting evidence.
Refunds: Flea may release an uncaptured authorization or process a refund for duplicate or unauthorized charges, non-delivery, canceled card pickups, proven fraud, a seller-approved adjustment, or when required by law. Buyer’s remorse and disclosed or reasonably inspectable defects are generally not refundable. Cancellations: A buyer may cancel an offer-linked local pickup through My Offers before the completed handoff. Flea notifies the seller and releases an uncaptured card authorization when applicable. Completed handoffs and captured or shipped transactions follow the refund and dispute terms above. Membership cancellation stops future renewal and remains effective through the paid period unless law requires otherwise.
Membership Terms
A Booth trial provides the first thirty days without a membership charge when displayed during enrollment. Unless canceled before the stated renewal date, the Booth plan renews automatically at $14.99 per month until canceled. Checkout must display the trial length, renewal price, billing interval, included product capacity, renewal date, and cancellation method before acceptance. Trial eligibility may be limited to one trial per person, payment method, household, or business where permitted.
Provider and Developer Program Disclosures
Apple, Google, Meta, Stripe, Firebase, and OpenAI are independent service providers and are not sponsors of Flea. Use of their authentication, payment, hosting, or AI services is subject to their applicable terms. Flea provides equivalent account-access options where required, permits browsing without login where account features are unnecessary, offers in-app reporting and account-deletion initiation, and limits requested device permissions to the feature the user selects.
